This is just lovely. There's a little movement in the pencilwork, but the overall effect is calm.

I was very calm while sketching it, so I'm glad that came through. I can't seem to get that roughness out of my works, though.
:iconmsklystron:
Don't take out the 'roughness'.:) It's expressive and a nice contrast to the serenity you infuse your pictures with.

Hm. I like contrast. I'll keep it rough this time. But I do think I need to learn how to clean up some of my work.

It's so hard to tell which medium you used. Digital would be my guess. Anyway let me know and I'll give you some pointers. (Puts art teacher hat on.) But remember self expression and expressiveness are very much prized by me.

Digital, yes. I used a tablet, sketched over a picture, blocked in some color. Nothing too artistic. Something short and sweet and simple to change the pace a little.
:iconmsklystron:
Gawd, now I feel like a dummy. Can you actually place a drawing on the tablet and it's sensitive enough for you to trace over it that way? I haven't tried this yet, but I might, because I don't have a scanner and really don't have room for one on my desk. So far, when I've worked from a sketch I was redrawing it from scratch into the program.

Well, to get smoother lines, there's a few things you can do. The obvious one would be to create a new transparent layer and use your sketched lines to create smoother, confident lines. You can zoom in tight and undo/ erase too to make them perfect. After that you can delete the orignal sketch and carry on.
